Houston Couple Sentenced for Violations of Federal Drug Laws

Acting U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans announced that MICHAEL TAYLOR,age48, and LESLIE PECK, age 35, both of Houston, Texas, were sentenced today after previously pleading guilty to a two-count Indictment for violations of the Federal Controlled Substances Act. TAYLOR and PECK each pled guilty to conspiring to distribute and to possess with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine and distributing 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine.

 

U.S. District Judge Carl J. Barbier sentenced TAYLOR to 120 months imprisonment, followed by 5 years of supervised release. PECK was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment, followed by 4 years of supervised release.

 

Acting U.S. Attorney Evans praised the work of the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police, in investigating this matter. Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon S. Long was in charge of the prosecution
