MADISON, WIS. -- A federal grand jury in the Western District of Wisconsin, sitting in Madison, returned the following indictments yesterday. You are advised that a charge is merely an accusation and that a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
The maximum statutory sentence is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes. If convicted, the sentencing of a defendant will be determined by the court based on the advisory Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
Wausau Man Charged with Distributing Heroin
Alfred Wilson, 34, Wausau, Wis., is charged with four counts of distributing heroin. The indictment alleges that the distributions occurred in April and June 2016.
If convicted, Wilson faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison on each count. The charges against him are the result of an investigation by the Marathon County Drug Unit, Wausau Police Department, Marathon County Sheriff’s Office, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and IRS Criminal Investigation. The prosecution of this case will be handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney David Reinhard.
Illinois Woman Charged with Theft from Mail
Tamara Donald, 39, Loves Park, Ill., is charged with four counts of mail theft, committed in June and July 2015, while she was an employee of the U.S. Postal Service in Beloit, Wis. The indictment alleges that she stole gift cards from envelopes intended to be conveyed by U.S. mail.
If convicted, Donald faces a maximum sentence of five years in federal prison on each count. The charges against her are the result of an investigation by the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General. The prosecution of this case will be handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Wegner.
