MADISON, WIS. -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Virena L. Ousley, 25, Madison, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 12 months and one day in federal prison for conspiring to distribute crack cocaine. Ousley pleaded guilty to this charge on September 12, 2016.
Ousley sold crack cocaine from her apartment in Madison during the summer of 2015. At the time of her arrest in July 2015, Ousley was in possession of approximately 60 grams of crack cocaine and a firearm. She was found responsible for possessing or distributing a total of 66.7 grams of crack cocaine.
Ousley’s co-conspirator, Nathan J. Morris, 27, also of Madison, was sentenced on December 21, 2016, to 60 months in federal prison for his role in this offense.
The charge against Ousley was the result of an investigation conducted by the Dane County Narcotics Task Force and Madison Police Department. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Antonio M. Trillo.
