MADISON, WIS. -- John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Robert Landrum, 69, Janesville, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge James D. Peterson to 46 months in federal prison for possessing a firearm as a felon. Landrum pleaded guilty to the offense on February 9, 2016.
Landrum was arrested on October 8, 2015, immediately after having purchased a firearm from an undercover agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Landrum has prior felony convictions for sexual contact with a child, theft, and armed robbery.
The charge against Landrum was the result of an investigation conducted by ATF, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, and the Janesville Police Department. The prosecution of the case has been handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Meredith P. Duchemin.
